Diwali of Deepavali is the big festival of India, It is also known as festival of Lights & Five days festival which start from Dhanteras which comes on thirteenth lunar day of Krishna paksha of the Hindu calendar month Ashwin month & ends on Bhai dooj or Bhaibeej, celebrated on second lunar day of Shukla paksha of the Hindu calendar month Kartik.

In India, there are many important festivals & each festivals have their golorious history or specific reason for their celebration. Behind the Diwali or Deepavali festival there are many mythology or believes are there that Lord Rama, Sita & Laxman were returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile & end to the demon Ravana of Lanka. After this victory, Rama returned to Ayodhya & people welcomed them by lighting rows of clay lamps. So, It is an occasion which is celebrating in honor of Rama's Victory over Ravana. The other story is also available behind Diwali celebration is that King Bali who was great king and known for generous ruler & ambitious. Some God pleaded to Vishnu to check King Bali's Power. Then God came to earth in the form of a Vamana dressed as Priest. The God met King Bali and said you are known for ruler in the three worlds: the earth, the Skies & the underworld. So, Would you give me a space that I could cover with three strides? King Bali Laughed and say surely you can. Then Dwarf changed into Vishnu and his three steps covered the earth, the skies and the whole universe! King Bali send to the Underworld.
